What do you say when someone gives you a gift…. Specifically, the gift of counseling. What could possibly express the feelings you simply cannot put into words? I was in a place in my life where there was no way forward. I had simply been devastated by a surprise nuclear detonation brought on by the arrest of my husband. I was in despair…. And my children were right there with me. I began a journey that has taken years and has changed my life. Now where there used to be bleak self-blame and shame… I have joy and hope.  Counseling has done the impossible and brought my family and me back to a place of healing and balance. We were in great danger of falling apart and through a skilled counselor we were set on a path that leads to life and life more abundant. Thank you is the only thing I can say, and yet I know… it is wholly inadequate to express the miracle that this adventure in counseling has provided for us. Someone gave out of the goodness of their heart, and we received it in a time of great need. Where there once were five women in grave danger of losing themselves to trauma and family systems that were destroying them… we now have a family on its way to healing relationships and healthy lives.
